2014.1.4a, is a "Soldiers' Mail", postcard addressed to Mrs. Albert J. O'Brien, Clarkson, NE. The postcard has the "American Red Cross" stamped on front and "No Postage Necessary" stamped on top right. On the back of the postcard is "The ship on which I sailed has arrived safely overseas". There are two lines, one for name, (in pencil is "Pvt. Albert J. O'Brien", and organization, (in pencil "Battery C, 338 F.A.") Below these lines is "American Expeditionary Forces." 2014.1.4b is a photo of the ship and on the back of the photo written in ink is "The Good Ship Pocahontas". |
