Description |
WWII Ike jacket belonging to Charles J. RIchardson. Includes 1 US DI, and one Infantry DI on the lapels. There are 2 leadership sleeves on the shoulder epaulets in red and green. On the right shoulder there is a red and gold lightning patch to denote the 25th Lightning Division. Below that is the rank patch denoting a Sergeant. Toward the sleeve are 3 gold stripes near the cuff denoting 6 months of service overseas in a combat zone. On the left sleeve is also a rank patch for Sergeant. On the left breast of the jacket is the Ruptured Duck patch for honorable discharge from the Army. On the right breast there is a CIB or Combat Infantryman's badge for engaging in ground combat. Below that is the "Fruit Salad" for a soldier or ribbons that the soldier earned. The top ribbon is for earning the Bronze Star. From left to right is the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct medal, the Asiatic- Pacific campaign medal with 2 bronze battle stars, the WWII Victory medal, the Occupation medal, and the Philippine liberation medal with 1 bronze battle star. The jacket has the number 5936 written inside the back and it is crossed out. The number 2789 is written right below it signifying the last 4 digits of Richard's serial number. |
